Break-Time

It’s been hovering around me for a few weeks now. A feeling of blogger's burn-out. I also am revisiting my time and how I use it. I’m hitting the homestretch of publishing Martin Lost and Found, my second novel. And I need to get back to working on novel #3.

I love the friends I have made and the community I have discovered while maintaining this site, and I look forward to keeping in touch via email.

But, I need a break, and so I am going "on sabbatical."

I don't know when I will return, but while I'm away, I'll undoubtedly continue to gather stories and formulate opinions. (What writer doesn't crave fodder?)

My best wishes to everyone who has dropped by, commented, and fed my desire to share my writing with the world.

Please keep in touch.

Now this is a tad spooky Katie. Not only have I just commented on your previous post and this one pops up but whilst commenting I was thinking that I really cannot spare the time for blogging and commenting much at the moment. I am promising myself time on writing, pure and simple. I think I will post as the mood takes me but your sabbatical sounds an excellent plan and I wish you well with it. I will email of course and can't wait to read the second novel! :-)

A sabbatical does the soul good sometimes. Blogging can be stressful and at times I myself take periodic breaks. I hope you get lots of writing done.

Your blogs have been the highlights of my weeks and it has made the distance between just a bit more bearable. I will miss your blogs, but know that we will be in touch in other ways. Enjoy your sabbatical and let's get Martin out there so the whole world can enjoy yet another full-length helping of your wonderful writing!

There must be "something in the air" as the saying goes, because I've been reading similar posts for just a few days now. And, most of those were from writers who said they waste way too much time blogging, instead of writing. Can we say, "Guilty?"...and not happy about it, at all! We can send each other Fabulous Writing Karma...along with an e-mail or two! You're doing the "write" thing! LOL Forgive me...I think I need sleep! :)

Good for you! I know blogging was a means to an end and I'm so glad you enjoyed it & your next book is headed to print.

Congratulations and keep on writing!

Katie--I'm going to miss your posts. There are a few blogs I look forward to more than others...posts that are meaty, enlightening, and well crafted. Your absence will leave a void.

However, I have backed off a bit from blogging lately. No longer do I post daily or even every other day. I'm submitting more. I'm taking babysteps. No novel yet, and I have to carve out time to write, with my "day job" (teaching) as a priority. But what the future holds...who knows.

I hope we can keep in touch, Katie.

Yeah, we all need a break now and then Katie, I'm with you. I've been posting about once every two or three weeks, starting to lose the momentum and have other priorities. Anyway, good luck with all your projects, see you around!

Blogging burn outs stink, I know. And no worries. Take all the time you want. Taking a break helps a lot in many ways. Hope you will come back though, someday. :) Good luck in your writing projects.

Oh, Katie, I will miss your new pieces, but who's to stop me from reading my favorite posts over time? I've been following you since 2009, and I have my favorites. That will be my way of staying close.

Take all the time you need to work on other things. I can't wait to read "Martin, Lost and Found."

With much affection and thanks for your loving support.

Namaste..........cj

oh this "change" thing that continues to follow me is annoying but I'm happy for you because I know #3 is part of your passion and you are pursuing it.

First of all, forgive me for just now seeing this post. I'm way behind in visiting my friends lately and you are definitely one whom I count as a friend. I completely understand your need to take a break and wish you the very best with your novel. And if you ever a quick getawary, my little mountaintop is only two hours away.

Hugs, Jayne
